Just returned from Amador County and suggest visiting the following:

Bray Wineries….very friendly, excellent Hussy Blonde (White) and very reasonable on all wines. Also thought the Sangiovese was an excellent value – picked up half a case for $42 (sale).
Andis Winery also has an excellent Sauvignon Blanc. Very nice grounds including a bacci ball court. Lots of adirondack chairs and thoughtful shade.
Villa Toscano… Terrific winery in true Tuscan style. Tasting room has lots of mercury glass, artglass, sculptures, art, etc to peruse and shop for. Lots of seating space outside for dining but cannot bring in food. However, their kitchen is very accomodating with pizzas, antipastos, salads, burgers, italian cookies, pastries…etc.
Finally, Helwig winery will be featuring Pablo Cruise concert on the evening of the 13th. We attended last years concert and it was magical. Tickets can be obtained from their website. Good food and lots of wine available for purchase… you won’t be disappointed.
We did visit Youngs Winery which had very pleasant surroundings but felt the wines were overpriced at $28 /bottle and up for nothing exceptional (I did buy a bottle of the petite syrah to be kind as it was kind of nice).
