Art Ona, President, called the meeting to order at 6:05 pm.
- Introductions included guest with Russ and Cheri Huntoon: He will be a new member shortly and has an X5 and 530.
- Street Survival, October 6. Art Ona said there had been 22 students. It was an excellent event. If more students are obtained next year, will need more helpers. Our goal is to save lives.
- The Nominating Committee comprised of Jeff Warner, Jeff Whitesides and DeArmond Sharp met and nominates the following persons to serve as officers for the Sierra Chapter BMW CCA for the next two years:
1. President – Pat McGoff
2. Vice President – John English
3. Secretary – Dody Gustafson
4. Treasurer/Legal Counsel – DeArmond Sharp
5. Member-at-Large – Mike Dietel
It is also suggested that the following positions be confirmed as directors by virtue of holding the following positions:
1. Driving Events – Jeff Warner
2. Community Involvement – Gilbert Dayao and Melissa Nicholas
3. Newsletter – John Strom
4. Webmaster – Carol Villar
5. Membership Chairman – Sharon Goodrich
Note that Dody Gustafson, DeArmond Sharp and Mike Dietel can only serve another two-year term if approved by a two-thirds vote of the membership at the November meeting because they have already served a two-year term. No other nominations for offices were voiced at the meeting.
- El Dorado Wine Tour September 29th and 30th. DeArmond said there were thirteen cars and 22 people, including two from the Sacramento Chapter. They sent a thank you note for a great time.
- John Strom had returned from his trip to Italy for the summer with Alice. They had a great time and he had brought presentations of the Ferrari Museum, Lamborghini Museum and the Italian National Auto Museum. The latter had vehicles with history going back further than cars built in other countries. After those great presentations, John gave a short one of their trip also. All of the photos were fantastic.
- LaVecchia will be dinner spot for October and November.
