SUMMARY:2024 10th Annual Sierra Chapter Family Picnic
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun afternoon. Fresh air and lots of space at GALENA STATE PARK\nFood\nThe club will provide the main course of hamburgers\, sausage\, hot dogs\, buns\, condiments. BWOB and appetizers\, please indicate what you’ll be bringing in the RSVP form. \nWe will be at Bearmat (same place as last year). Bearmat Group Picnic Area is located within the north entrance to Galena Creek Regional Park at 18250 Mt. Rose Highway\, Reno\, NV 89511\, just above the Galena Creek Visitor Center. \n \nNOTE: Club Events are for Sierra Chapter Members Only\nRSVP BY AUGUST 10th\n\n	Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.\n\n\n    \n\n\n        \n        \n         \nFor more information contact Pat McGoff \nAbout Galena Park\nThis park is popular year-round. In the summer\, enjoy hiking in the Sierra along Galena\, Jones and White’s Creeks. In the winter\, visit the park for cross-country skiing\, snowshoeing and sledding. \nNestled in a forested area on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada\, Galena Creek Regional Park is seven miles up the Mt. Rose Highway from the intersection with I-580. Galena Creek flows through the park creating separate north and south portions of the park. Campfire programs\, ranger-led hikes\, fishing at Marilyns Pond and exhibits in the Galena Creek Visitor Center add to the diversity of the park.\n \n
