SUMMARY:2021 September Second Saturday Drive (SSD)
DESCRIPTION:Second Saturday Drive is a monthly drive event meant to give you an excuse to get out and drive your BMW at least once a month. \nThe rules/requirements are easy.\n\nYou do NOT have to be a member of the Chapter to participate (Bring a friend to introduce them to the BMW CCA and our Chapter).\nNo reservations are needed\, We meet at the starting point starting at 9:30am on the second Saturday and leave promptly at 10:00am. If you are able to join us\, please do. If you can’t make it\, no big deal; we will miss you and hope to see you on the next one.\n\nHello Sierra Chapter Members\, \nBefore I get into the route for our September Second Saturday Drive I wanted to let you know that we are still not holding an in person monthly meeting at Bill Pearce BMW on Thursday due to the indoor gatherings requiring masks mandate from the Governor still being in place. As previously mentioned\, we will keep this on a month by month review. I certainly hope that we are able to meeting in person on the 2nd Thursday again soon.\n\nAlso\, this Sunday is the rescheduled Family Picnic at the Galena Creek Park Bearmat Group area\, if you have RSVP’d to attend\, I look forward to seeing you there. If you have not RSVP’d and would like to attend\, please RSVP as soon as possible so we can get an accurate headcount again for the food purchases. \nNow on to this months Drive. We are going to leave from our usual starting spot of the Raley’s ONE Market on Wedge Parkway in South Reno. As is customary\, gathering starts at 9:30am\, departure promptly at 10:00am. Due to the two active fires in the area (and the source of all of our smoke woes)\, we are going to head north east to Gerlach\, NV to have lunch at Bruno’s Country Club. Our route will take us along Veterans Parkway North till it turns into Sparks Blvd on the north side of Interstate-80 and then continue on Sparks Blvd until it connects with Pyramid Hwy. Once on Pyramid Hwy we will revisit part of our Pyramid Lake Drive from a few months back and continue to the lake and then east toward Nixon and finally North on NV 447 to Gerlach. For those of you that have RSVP’d for our annual wine trip the end of this month\, as far as I am currently aware\, we are still a go for this event.
