SUMMARY:2021 July Second Saturday Drive (SSD)
DESCRIPTION:Second Saturday Drive is a monthly drive event meant to give you an excuse to get out and drive your BMW at least once a month. \nGreetings Sierra Chapter Members\,\n\nI hope everyone has been enjoying the unseasonably warm weather in Northern Nevada. This months Second Saturday Drive will pick up on part of last months drive around the western side of Lake Tahoe by completing the circumnavigation of the lake from Incline Village to Stateline. We will depart from the Raley’s O-N-E market parking lot at 10:00am as usual\, gathering starts at 9:30am to allow for some fellowship and signing the event waiver. Once we depart\, we will head up Mt. Rose Highway toward Incline Village and once we reach Hwy 28\, we will head north toward Kings Beach and Tahoe City\, continuing south on Hwy 89 toward South Lake Tahoe and finally transition to Hwy 50 toward Stateline. The official drive will end at the parking lot of the Montbleu Resort and Casino in Stateline. Due to the expected volume of tourists in the area\, finding a place for everyone to gather for lunch proved to be quite challenging\, I was unable to find anyone that would accept a reservation for a group of our expected size. With this in mind\, after we end the drive at the Montbleu\, you are free to find a lunch sport on your own or continue the drive east (north) on Hwy 50 toward Spooner summit to complete the circumnavigation of the remainder of the lake. From there you can continue on Hwy 50 toward Carson City\, or if you want to completely circle the lake\, proceed north on Hwy 28 back to Incline Village.\n\nHere is the map for the Drive:\n\n\nAlso\, a reminder\, I am always looking for ideas for Drives\, if you have any ideas or a favorite drive you think the chapter members would enjoy\, please let me know.  I welcome the input.\n\nHope to see you Saturday.\n\n~Lance Taylor-Warren\n2021-2022 Sierra Chapter President\n\n\n\nThe rules/requirements are easy.\n\nYou do NOT have to be a member of the Chapter to participate (Bring a friend to introduce them to the BMW CCA and our Chapter).\nNo reservations are needed\, We meet at the starting point starting at 9:30am on the second Saturday and leave promptly at 10:00am. If you are able to join us\, please do.  If you can’t make it\, no big deal; we will miss you and hope to see you on the next one.
